#FitChicks: Mini Market Adventure
This past Sunday Caodan Tran of Living 29 hosted a Mini Market event at CocoAndre Chocolatier in Bishop Arts. If her name sounds familiar, you may have read our very first #FitChicks featuring her company at another one of her amazing pop up events. This one was even better though because it was all about GIRL POWER! This particular event was all about highlighting Dallas based, women-owned businesses.
The entire event boasted a little bit of everything for everyone, but the item on our minds? Ms. Tran’s Pho Kit! The only way you could order before the new year was to attend the pop up event to pick up in person so, making time in our schedule was first priority.
Lucky for us, we made it out to grab kits and because a quick tour of the grounds left us smitten, we left with empty wallets and full spirits. Each of the tables featured local goodies that were hard to resist. Kessler Pie Co. had pies in a jar. Pies...IN. A. JAR. Pastry chef, Iris (who also happens to be the Executive Director for Art Love Magic) was there presenting some of her artwork, which was so unique and colorful. Just looking at it would put anyone in a happy place. Jewelry designer Lisa Aceves had some great pieces. Her bracelet sets would be perfect Christmas gifts because each of them carried their own unique characteristic. The Pins & Folds table came right on time offering mini organic vegetable pot pies and gruyere and rosemary twists that were so mouthwatering.
Channel ChristOff Davis really embodies a renaissance woman and has an amazing collection handbags, apparel, canvas prints and more! I couldn’t leave without ordering one of her handbags! We didn’t get to make it to V Mode de Vie’s table because our pockets were empty and baby jewels (!!!) would just be too tempting to resist! But, we didn’t dip out before we snagged some of Aliamo’s body butters and scrubs to try out at home.
Here are a few other featured businesses that you might find interesting: Fantastultra, Jamis Hand Made Pies and Queen Oh Wafer. Make sure you check out all of these awesome ladies. You never know how many last minute holiday gems you may find!
Finally, if you live in the DFW area check out Living 29’s last event of 2015. This Sunday she will be co hosting a holiday food drive at The Sweat Shop with FITMENCOOK from 12pm-2pm in an effort to fight holiday hunger. If you bring two non-perishable food items you get food, drinks, music, and GIVEAWAYS! Who doesn’t love a good time for a good cause?! click the link to RSVP> https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fitmencook-holiday-food-drive-party-tickets-19746988775.
Hope to see you there!
