Vital Challenge Recap
So, a couple of weeks ago I introduced you guys to the Vital Protein line and told you the benefits of collagen and how I was challenging myself to incorporate the line into my everyday life. Well, I was partially successful and want to recap with you guys how the challenge played out at Casa de FitXBrit.
In all honesty I incorporated 3 out of the 4 products that I posted in the original post. Let’s get down to business.
Collagen Peptides: So, this was the product that I was most excited about and, to be honest, we got off to a rocky start. I mixed it with water like the directions indicated and because it was unflavored I just knew this was going to be easy peezy. Boy, was I wrong. The taste wasn’t great. But one thing you will never be able to say about me is that I am a quitter...so I tried a different approach and mixed my collagen peptides in absolutely everything else I consumed. From La Croix water (which can get a little messy at first but is so worth it) to oatmeal and chilli. I got my daily intake in and was committed to reaping all of the benefits that would come with it.
Beauty Greens: These marine collagen peptides combined with raw organic greens, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics were so amazing for my digestive system. This may be too much info but transparency reigns supreme over here and these beauty greens really increased my regularity. My favorite way to take these in was via a supercharge mix in my absolute favorite smoothie combination.
Whey Protein: This ended up being my absolute favorite part of the entire challenge! Protein powders can be a hit or miss with me either being able to actually drink it ( which means it tastes good) or me recommending you bake it into something exclusively (because it wasn’t that great to taste) but the Vital Vanilla Whey Powder is REALLY good and mixed well with my coffee without me having to add or use a flavored creamer. Anyone that knows me knows how I feel about flavored creamers.
Ultimately, Vital Proteins will be a keeper in my household and I think I am going to give my monthly brand switch up a rest for awhile because I could really tell the difference with the added collagen benefit. Prior to starting the challenge my skin and lips were super dry and no matter what I was using I was not seeing results. Even when I increased my water consumption...nothing, But after just 10 days of using products from the Vital Proteins line the difference is remarkable. Absolutely no more dry skin and my lips and my nail growth are pretty amazing. I really wish I had taken a before picture of my nails so you could really get the full effect.
My plan is to continue with the regimen and add in the Beef Capsules that I neglected to try out the first go round totally due to me not liking to take pills of any kind but, I really want to see how they interact with my system. Plus, I am hoping that if I continue with the challenge I will see a noticeable difference in my joints as well. Stay tuned!
Have you joined in on adding a dose of collagen into your daily routine? If so, how?
