#FitChicks: 10 Healthy Snacks To Curb Your Post-Holiday Cravings
The holiday season usually means parties, family, and food. While we’re all down for some much needed family and friend time, we’re not so interested in the post-holiday cravings most of us (raise your hands, y’all) get as a result of getting a little lax with the eating habits. As you wean yourself off of Christmas goodies it helps to attack some of those cravings with snacks that are healthy and delicious.
Ahead, find a few relatively easy snack options that will keep you satisfied without reaching for the chips, candy, and those holiday leftovers.
Avocado Toast
It always helps to start your day off with a healthy dose of right. If you agree, Avocado Toast is your friend. If you've yet to hop on the avocado-toast bandwagon, you are seriously missing out on a delicious, quick, and healthy meal-on-the-go. Mash half of an avocado onto a piece of whole grain bread - Ezekiel Bread is hearty and freezes well, but I also tend to grab sugar-free bread from my local grocer. Sprinkle a little sea salt and pepper or drizzle a little lemon and olive oil on top with a pinch of salt and there you go!
Carrots and Almonds
When you just have an inkling to nosh, you can never go wrong with veggies! Add a handful of roasted almonds (minus the salt) for a snack that is crunchy and satisfying.
Crispy Tabasco Zucchini Chips
That store-bought bag a chips in your office break room? Forget about it! Whip up a fresh batch of these super crispy zucchini chips courtesy of HostTheToast!
Almond Butter Coated Rice Cake
When your mind wanders post-lunch, it’s easy to fall for the okie-doke by going for the community leftovers. Instead, make it easy on yourself by prepping a brown rice cake smothered in rich almond butter. It’ll add a little something sweet and give you enough energy to make it through the rest of the day.
Acai Bowl
Eat this gorgeous bowl for breakfast or as the perfect midday snack.
What healthy yet savory snacks are you guys munching on?
